Book Review, “The King James Study Bible,” Thomas Nelson publishers

KJV Study Bible cover

The King James Study Bible, published by Thomas Nelson in large print format, is a beautiful Bible. It is intended to “provide conservative Christians with a reliable study Bible that is both scholarly and spiritually relevant.” It combines technical aspects with opportunities for application.

This Bible contains many features to assist any Bible student. It is presented in full color. Its doctrinal footnotes offer a system for studying the scriptures and tracing them throughout the Bible. Personality profiles of key men and women of the Bible are located near the verses in which they are mentioned. Archaeological Sites focus on significant Biblical places and the findings surrounding them. There are center-column references, maps, images, charts, study notes, book introductions, outlines, topical indexes, and a Hebrew/Greek word-study concordance.

This is a lovely Bible. I appreciate the large print and the colorful pictures and maps. I especially like the lifetime guarantee offered through Thomas Nelson Publishers. It is, however, very large and heavy, making it more difficult for some to use in a practical manner.

I would recommend this Bible for any serious Bible scholar.

I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
