Book Review, “The Play-Along Bible,” Bob Hartman author

The Play-Along Bible coverThe Play-Along Bible: Imagining God’s Story through Motion and Play, written by Bob Hartman and illustrated by Susie Poole, is designed to be interactive. It is beautifully illustrated with lovely pictures to hold any child’s attention.

This Bible contains fifty Bible stories that are written to encourage children to combine actions with each story. The author suggests that parents perform the action or sound first, then have the child imitate each one. This book will instill a love of the Bible, reading, and spending time with parents or caregivers with its “fresh, multisensory approach.” It also encourages physical activity and social interaction, as well as growing the imagination. There are also four memory verses in the back of the book.

This Bible is an amazing addition to any children’s library. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to teach children Biblical stories in a fun and bonding manner.

I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
