The Daniel Fast for Weight Loss, by Susan Gregory, is designed to offer a Biblical approach to losing weight and keeping it off. It focuses on both your relationship with God and your relationship with food, all based on solid research to eliminate cravings and maintain weight loss after the fast ends.
The book is divided into two parts. Part I describes the Daniel Fast and its goals, with chapters entitled “Get Ready,” “Your Body Image and Who You Are in Christ,” and “Ten Habits for Healthy Living,” to name a few. Part II contains recipes and a twenty-one day devotional to feed both your body and your spirit. Recipes include Berry-Banana Breakfast Smoothie, Steel-Cut Oats, Caramelized Cauliflower Steaks, and Spicy Vegetable Burgers. Each devotion is named, such as “Tending the Tabernacle,” The Operator’s Manual,” and “You! God’s Creation.”
This is a lovely book. I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about both their spiritual and physical health.
