Book Review, “The One Year Home & Garden Devotions,” Sandra Byrd author

home & Garden cover

The One Year Home & Garden Devotions, by Sandra Byrd, is a lovely devotional. It is designed with busy women in mind, those who have families, homes, and jobs to balance with their relationship with God.

The devotions in this book are designed for women who “delight in enhancing their homes.” Each month begins with a suggestion to do just that, such as scented linen water, a lasagna recipe, planter ideas, and tips for cleaning bathtubs. This book is written such a way that one could begin using it any day of the year and continue for an entire year. Each includes a short devotion and a Bible verse related to the topic for the day.

I enjoyed this devotional. Sandra Byrd writes each day’s message in a simple, down-to-earth manner that every woman can relate to. Topics include “Washing Whites,” “Gates and Walls,” “Tempting Cookies,” “Cuttings and Transplants,” and “Regifting.” The ideas for each month are helpful and uncomplicated.

I would recommend this devotional to any woman who interested in making their house into a home.

I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
