A Promise Kept, by Robin Lee Hatcher, is an amazing story. It tells of Allison Kavanagh’s struggle with God. She is sure that she heard His promise to save her marriage, and her heart is torn apart upon her divorce.
Moving in to her great-aunt’s cabin in Idaho, she soon discovers several journals as well as an old wedding dress in the attic. Bewildered at this discovery, since her aunt was single, she begins to read the journals, soon realizing that her aunt has struggled with God as well. As time passes and her ex-husband remains alcohol free, she begins to wonder if God might not keep His promise after all.
I enjoyed this book. Its characters were well-developed and easy to relate to. Their faults and problems were common situations that many have found themselves in. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian fiction.
I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
