Book Review, “The NIV Pink Bible: An Invitation to Hope,” Zondervan

NIV pink Bible coverThe NIV Pink Bible: An Invitation to Hope is written for any woman whose life has been touched by breast cancer.  Its purpose is to bring hope and encouragement to those in need of comfort.

This edition includes the complete text of the NIV version of the Bible, with the words of Jesus in red text for easy identification.  There is a forward written by Janelle Hail, the founder and CEO of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. There are also nine pages with prayers, devotions, and suggested scripture readings.  The topical index includes subjects such as: salvation, suffering, healing, guidance, and peace.  Following this is a list of prayers in the Bible, after which is a 90-day reading plan to give an overview of the Bible.  A complete three-year reading plan is also included.  I especially liked the overview of the Bible that offers a brief description of each book of the Bible, very helpful for new Christians.  This is all made complete with a pink ribbon marker to keep one’s place.

I found this to be an excellent version of the Bible, one I would recommend to anyone who has experienced breast cancer.

I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
