Letters to Katie: A Middlefield Family Novel, by Kathleen Fuller, is the third book in the Middlefield Family Series. It continues the story of Sawyer and Laura, from Faithful to Laura, as well as telling the story of Johnny and Katherine. It also includes Adam and Emma from Treasuring Emma. The stories are interwoven, just as our lives are interwoven in any community.
Katherine has loved Johnny for years and has been very open about the matter. He, however, has never shown any reciprocal feelings for her. Just when she decides to move on with her life and let her feelings for Johnny go, he decides to let her know that he does love her. Unfortunately, when he arrives at her home to tell her, she has developed meningitis and loses a part of her memory. Since she doesn’t remember him sharing his feelings, he has to find another way to show her how he feels. Meanwhile, Laura and Sawyer deal with telling their families about their upcoming marriage.
This was a wonderful book. I enjoyed these characters and could relate to their reactions to various situations. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Amish fiction, but I would definitely read this series in order.
I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
