Book Review, “Tidewater Inn,” Colleen Coble author

Tidewater Inn, a Hope Beach Novel, by Colleen Coble, is a great mystery!  From the very beginning, the story holds your attention and makes you reluctant to put it down.

Libby, who restores historical buildings, receives a phone call from her business partner, Nicole, and then watches via web cam as Nicole is kidnapped.  Rushing to Hope Island, show discovers that the father she thought died when she was five-years-old lived there and had another family but recently passed away and left Tidewater Inn and a huge stretch of land to her. Attempting to get acquainted with her newfound family, locate the missing Nicole, start the project she and Nicole were beginning, and convince the authorities that she is not the guilty one keep her busy.  Alec, a Coast Guard captain and island native, tries to both help and protect Libby during all of this, only to find himself fighting attraction to her.

I enjoyed reading this novel.  The plot held my attention with its twists and turns, and the characters were very believable.  The heavy physical attraction between the main characters towards the end of the book was unusual for Christian fiction, but not over the line.  I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good suspense novel!
